Mildred Rose Higginbotham, 90, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026.
Born on August 1, 1935, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Mildred was the daughter of Charles Albert Kuhns and Doris Elizabeth Woomer. She was formerly of Greensburg and Paintertown, Pennsylvania, and Columbia, South Carolina, before making her home in Myrtle Beach.
Mildred was a woman of many interests and simple joys. She enjoyed crafts, reading, and traveling, finding happiness in creativity and in exploring new places. She was a member of Paintertown Evangelical Lutheran Church, where her faith was an important part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John G. Higginbotham.
Left to cherish Mildred’s memory will be her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy A. McCue and Terrill W. McCue of Columbia, South Carolina; Her son, John David Higginbotham of Columbia, South Carolina; and her grandsons, Joseph G. McCue (Shannon) of Connecticut and Terrill C. McCue of Columbia, South Carolina. She is also survived by her siblings, Charles Kuhns (Susan), Jonalyn Rometo (Art), and Gary Kuhns (Linda), along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach for the compassionate care provided to Mildred.

Mildred will be remembered for her love of family, her creative spirit, and the warmth she brought to those around her.
