Michael "Mike" Reilly

We lost Mike, a quiet, gentle soul in the early hours of Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the age of 73.  Left in sorrow are his wife of nearly 28 years, Pat, his two stepsons, Andy (wife Jill) and Rusty (wife Susan) and four grandchildren, Sean, Hayley, Meghan and Aidan who affectionately called Mike “Grumps.”

Mike was born and raised in College Point, NY to Lucy and Peter Reilly.  An only child, he had many lifelong friends, too numerous to list. He was a true ‘Queens kid’ who stuck by his friends and if you asked the local cops, “they were always up to no good”.   Mike served in the US Air Force during the unpopular Vietnam years and like so many others, came home to hostile feedback but he never lost touch with his service buddies, and finally, when “thank you for your service” became the new mantra, he could and did wear his SAC cap proudly, rarely taking it off.  Mike loved fishing and dragging Pat to remote, bug and snake-infested places. He leaves her too soon but with great memories that will see her through this tough time.

A memorial mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday February 27, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church.
