With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael John Perrotti, Jr., who departed this life on April 21, 2026 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, South Carolina.
Michael was born on February 04, 1973, in Belleville, New Jersey, to Michael John Perrotti, Sr., who survives him, and the late Georgianne Rebello Perrotti. He was also preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Olimpio and Marie Rebello, and Michael and Helen Perrotti.
Michael lived a life defined by service, loyalty, and love. He proudly served his community as a police officer with the Edison Police Department, dedicating himself to protecting others before retiring from the force. A true hero, he answered the call as a first responder at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001, an act that spoke volumes about his courage and selflessness.
In his younger years, Michael was a 3x state qualifier wrestler also, setting many school records at JP Steven’s High School. This was a testament to his determination and strength, qualities that remained with him throughout his life. Outside of his career, he was a man who found joy in the simple, meaningful moments. He was a devoted fan of the New York Mets and a passionate admirer of Bruce Springsteen, whose music was often the soundtrack to his life.
Michael’s greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those he loved. He had a gift of bringing people together, whether hosting family and friends or standing proudly at the grill, making sure everyone was fed and smiling. Known for his generosity, Michael found true joy in giving to others and witnessing their happiness.
He is survived by his father, Michael John Perrotti, Sr.; his sisters, Maria Perrotti and her life partner Kip Odell, and Nicole Maglione and her husband Dominic Maglione; his cherished nieces and nephew, Caroline Linn, Samantha Linn, Dominic Maglione, Jr., Maria Maglione, and Georgianna Maglione. He also leaves behind his beloved “fur babies,” George and Oliver, who were the lights of his life.
Michael will be remembered as a thoughtful, caring, and deeply loyal man whose presence brought comfort and joy to so many. His legacy of kindness, bravery, and love will live on in all who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. mda.org
