Michael Irwin Mercier, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Monday May 1, 2023 in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on April 8, 1963 in Dayton, Ohio to the late John Richard Mercier & Cora Belle Irwin.
Along with his parents, Mike is reunited in passing with his brother, John R. Mercier.
Mike was a hardworking man with a passion for helping people. He was a skilled and dedicated mental health nurse who would gladly go above and beyond for those in need. When Mike wasn’t helping his community, he relished time spent making memories with his family and friends. Above all else, Mike loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend he truly was.
Left to cherish Mike’s memory is his adoring wife, Kathleen Caulfield Mercier of Murrells Inlet; son, Sean Mercier of Blackwood, NJ; daughters, Kristen Weber and her husband, David of Myrtle Beach & Sarah Mercier of King of Prussia, PA; granddaughter, Autumn; sisters, Karen (Michael) Helbock of Virginia Beach, VA, Sharon (Robert) Monaghan of Albany, NY & Blanche (Grant) Koher of Chapel Hill, NC; sister in-law, Linda Mercier; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
The family will gather to greet friends in celebration of Mike’s life, from 11:00AM until 12:00PM on Saturday May 6, 2023 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
