Michael William Hotchkiss

Michael William Hotchkiss, 67, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his residence. He was born December 24, 1958, in Varnville, SC.

He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Hotchkiss, his first wife, Loretta Tempelton Hotchkiss; as well as a brother, Chris, Hotchkiss.

Survivors include his mother, Beatrice Lee Hotchkiss of Allendale, SC; his loving wife, Eleanor Little of Murrells Inlet, SC; one son, Matthew Hotchkiss and his wife, Crystal of Sumter, SC; a sister, Donna Moore and her husband, Rusty of Sumter, SC; two grandchildren, Zoey and Rylee; stepson, Robbie Germaux of LA; stepdaughter, Erica VanBurkum and her husband, Josh of Detroit, MI; sisters-in-law, Linda Templeton and Debra Fender and her husband, Alan, Gloria Leskanic, Julie Lake, and Kari Zlatovich; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Michael loved golf, music, and following the weather. He retired from Pontiac Foods after many dedicated years as an Industrial Mechanic. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy and carried that pride throughout his life.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Gathering Community Church, 9661 SC-707, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 2-3pm.

Burial with military honors will take place at 2:00pm Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.

The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Michael’s name to the Gathering Church, PO 30117 Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.
