Michael John Crowley

Michael John Crowley,  age 74 of Murrells Inlet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, after a period of declining health.  He was the husband of Marie (Bourdages) Crowley.

Born in Margarita, Canal Zone, Panama, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Phyllis Sullivan Crowley.  He spent his early years in Medford, Mass and graduated from Medford High School.  He went on to earn a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Mike worked at The Paul Revere Life Insurance Company/UNUM/Provident for many years in various positions, ending his career as Sales Vice President.  In his early retirement years, along with "perfecting" his golf game, he and his wife owned and operated "A Novel Idea", a used bookstore in Garden City, SC.

In addition to his wife of 41 years, Mike is survived by his  siblings:  James and his wife Suzanne, William and his wife Janice, and Elizabeth Murphy and her husband Stephen, his beloved cat Murfee,  many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as dear friends, extended family & neighbors who had the pleasure of knowing Mike throughout the years.

The family would like to thank First Light Home Care, especially Keisha and Sapphire for helping Mike during the last year and  the Myrtle Beach Manor staff for providing compassionate care to Mike during his final days.
