Mary Belle Reynolds, 88, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday September 28, 2022 at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on March 10, 1934 in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Martin Liedy & Dorothy Shipley Liedy.
Along with her parents, Mary is reunited in passing with her mother and father in-law, James & Leona Reynolds.
Mary was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold and zest for life. She was a well-educated secretary who worked within the Randolph County School district for many years. After serving as secretary for the vice principal, Mary was able to retire and enjoy the finer things in life. While in Randolph Township, Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Fire Dept. Co. #4 Ironia, NJ, was President of her local Elementary School Parent Teacher Association, and was an active part of JCC (Juvenile Conference Committee) for over 20 years. In her free time, Mary relished time spent traveling and seeing the world. She and her husband proudly visited Hawaii more than 5 times. Following the family’s relocation to the Myrtle Beach area, Mary was active in her community and truly enjoyed helping those in need. One of her favorite hobbies was constructing her Christmas Village, that would take up the living room and dining room. Recently, Mary was participating in training courses and classes to become a Guardian ad Litem for Horry County. Mary and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels in Myrtle Beach for 8 years. Above all else, Mary loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her quick wit, bright smile, her selflessness and the love she had for her family.
Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her adoring husband of over 67 years, James “Jim” Reynolds of Myrtle Beach; their sons, Marty Reynolds and wife, Terrie of Myrtle Beach & Jeff Reynolds and wife Brenda of Seminole, FL; grandchildren, Stephanie, James & Gina; great-grandchildren, Jaidyn, James & Alexandra; brothers, Martin & Bernard Liedy; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
