Mary R. (King) Buckley

Mary R. Buckley, 90, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday April 6, 2026 at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on January 11, 1936 in the Bronx to the late Eli John King & Julia King.

Along with her parents, Mary is reunited in passing with her three children, Maureen Cummins, Thomas Joseph Buckley and Patrick Joseph Buckley, Jr.; sister, Shelia O'Leary; her ex-husband, Patrick Joseph Buckley, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Patricia King.

Mary had a heart as big as her personality! In her younger years and while in New York, she worked for the State Post Office as a Testing Specialist. In her free time, Mary loved to volunteer and show her love and support for the community through compassion and grace. During the Christmas and holiday season, Mary relished ‘adopting’ a child and showering them with seasonal gifts, clothing and the magic of Christmas. She would gladly offer the shirt from her back to any child in need. In her quiet time, Mary enjoyed listening to music and watching game shows. Mary will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her son, Michael Peter Buckley of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, John King (Jerry) of Long Island, NY, and George King of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Jason Pepples, Shawn Pepples, Daniel Cummins, Patrick Joseph Buckley, III., Shannon H. Buckley, Courtney N. Buckley and Dorian Buckley; as well as several great grandchildren from Maureen; and her close cousin, Margie Nelbach.

A Celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date.
