Mary Louise Black, 92, of Surfside Beach, SC, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 12, 2021.
Born in Dayton, OH on September 21, 1928, Mary was the daughter of Elisabeth and Walter B. Thompson.
Mary was a world renowned artist. Her designs were used on stone and glass art (OpArt) and her beautiful drawings and paintings have been admired by many. She was a longtime member of Surfside Oilers, a local painting group.
In addition to her parents, Mary is precede in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Y. Black; three sisters, Margaret Redman, Geneva Rea and Deed Wenger; one brother Walter “Bud” Thompson.
Survivors include her four lovely daughters Francine Klingshirn (Roy) Farmersville, Ohio, Denise Black Viscomi, Miamisburg, Ohio, Darla Black-Myntti (Don), Newark, Ohio, and Lori Cain, Surfside Beach South Carolina, along with 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Dayton Ohio at a later date.
