Marjorie Dean

Marjorie Dean, 77, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at South Strand Hospital.  Born on September 13, 1943 in Bad Axe, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Avis McIntyre Kimball.  She was the loving wife of Walter Dean. She and Walter celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on November 21, 2020. 

Marjorie was a cosmetology instructor for over 20 years with the Alamance Community College.  She and Walter enjoyed their summers in Graham, NC and spending the winters in Myrtle Beach.  Marjorie was an avid bridge player and loved water aerobics.  Walking on the beach was an activity Marjorie truly enjoyed and finding treasures in the sand was special.  She would be found many mornings following a storm collecting the beautiful shells.  Family was her greatest treasure of all.  She will be greatly missed by all she loved and those who loved her.

Surviving in addition to her husband are sons, Kenneth Walter Dean (Lana), Richard Dean, Mike Dean (Stephanie Sprinkle); daughter, Dianne Wright (Jerry); grandchildren, Travis Dean, Jerry Lee, Charlotte Scarlett Moya (Juan), Melissa Toney, Brian Toney, Gavin Dean; great grandchildren, Vincent, Kathryn, and Sebastian.  She is also survived by brothers, Terry Kimball, Gary Kimball; sisters, Jeanne Smedberg and Janice King.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Leonard.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
