Margaret Chisholm Trancynger

Margaret Chisholm Trancynger, 80, of Surfside Beach, SC passed away on Tuesday, December 03, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 07, 1939 in Queens, New York, daughter of the late William Chisholm and Margaret Buckley Chisholm.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty eight years, Leo Frederick Trancynger of Surfside Beach, SC; two daughters, Maureen Healy and her husband Thomas of Surfside Beach and Theresa Scotchie and her fiancé Clint Chambers of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Thomas, William, Tommy, and Samantha; brother-in-law, Raymond Trancynger; and two sister-in-law’s, Stella Warnock and Ronnie Fillo and her husband Sam.

She retired as a career counselor from Fayetteville Technical Community College.

Margaret and Leo enjoyed their life together. She was and always will be the love of his life and best friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting Walt Disney World. Some of her fondest memories were in Astoria, growing up with Mary and Maryann.

She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she was a very active member.

Margaret is known by her family as St. Peggy of Deerfield Links. The family has set up a group in remembrance of her life on Facebook. The group can be found under Remembering St. Peggy of Deerfield Links

A funeral mass will be held 10:00am Friday, December 27, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Avenue, Garden City, SC 29576 with Father Ed Fitzgerald officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Margaret’s name to the Amedisys Foundation, 391 Seaboard St Unit 6, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
