Luis Sariego

Luis A. Sariego, 66, of Pawleys Island, SC, formerly of Worcester, NY, died on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, on September 12, 1957 to the late Pedro and Rosa Sariego.

Luis was a truck driver and member of the Local 816 Labor Union. He was also a collector of sports memorabilia, coins and stamps. He enjoyed showing off his collection. Luis liked to go hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was always quick with a joke and could make any and every one laugh. Above all, Luis was a devoted father, and his children were his world.

In addition to his parents, Luis is preceded in death by his brother, Peter Sariego and one sister, Millie E. Hussak.

Survivors include his children, Angie (Robert) Perez of Homestead, FL, Luis A. (Laura) Sariego of Long Island, NY, Jeremy Sariego of Reno, NV, Kristy (Robb) Hemberger of Pawleys Island, SC, Peter Sariego of Island Park, NY; sister, Idalia (Donald) Tisdall of Pawleys Island, SC; grandchildren, Ashley, Myiah, Stella, R.J.; niece Ellen; nephews Anthony, Steven and many other extended family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agape Hospice Care, Tidelands Oncology, SC House Calls, Amedisys and Powerback Rehab for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.

A celebration of Luis’s life will be held at a later date to be disclosed by his family.
