Louise Naomi Reed Kusaj (89) beloved mother and wife, went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2025. She was born in Charleroi, PA to the late Ernest Reed and Mildred Rotheram Reed.
Louise is survived by her Jr. High School sweetheart Kenneth Kusaj (91) to whom she was married almost 69 years.
Louise is also survived by her daughters Deborah and Deana, her son-in-law David and son-in-law Steven, and her son Darren, her granddaughters Angela and Jessica, her grandsons Matthew and Timothy, as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
Louise was proceeded in death by her sister, Donna, and her daughter, Dessa.
Louise enjoyed bowling, painting, yardsaling, cooking homemade spaghetti and chili, and playing a variety of card games. She shared these loves with family and friends throughout the years.
Being a social butterfly came in handy as Louise and her husband lived many years in Baltimore, MD, where Louise concentrated on raising a family while enjoying neighborhood gatherings and various clubs including Canasta and bowling. Louise also drove a school bus for a short time.
Their next move was in 1977 to Emporia, VA, where they owned and operated a family campground and added 2 of their grandchildren to their household. They were also very active with First Presbyterian Church of Emporia.
After moving to South Carolina in 2001, Louise and her husband found an extended family through the communities of Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet. They joined First Baptist Church of Murrells Inlet where they enjoyed helping with charitable projects.
While our hearts mourn our loss, we take comfort in knowing Louise is no longer suffering. And we know she’s table talking in a mean game of spades somewhere.
