Louis Gillotti Obituary

September 22, 1939 – June 22, 2022

“Mr. Lou” as he was affectionately called, died at his home on June 22, 2022.

A self-taught musician on string instruments, he was 82 years old, born at home on Gillotti Road in New Fairfield, CT to Peter and Lydia (DeNapoli) Gillotti, the youngest of 10 children. Gillotti Road was named after the Gillotti family.

He spent many years in Maine and then he relocated to Colorado to pursue his playing in various bands until he came back east to South Carolina. He was a member of the Black River Bluegrass Band.

He is survived by his sister, Rosemary Potenziani, GA; a sister in law Marie Gillotti, ME; brother in law, William Field, NM and many nieces and nephews.

He will also be greatly missed by his companion of many years, Pat Saunders of Surfside Beach, SC.

In accordance with Lou’s wishes no services will be held.
