Linda Jenerette Thompkins, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Conway Medical Center in Conway, South Carolina. She was born on September 2, 1946 in Mullins, South Carolina to the late Donald Jenerette & Ruth Cooke Jenerette.
Linda was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold and a smile that could light up the darkest room. She was a graduate of Aynor High School and went on to work for Anvil Knitwear as an inspector of textiles for thirty years. Following her well-deserved retirement, Linda was able to enjoy the finer things in life. In her free time, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and making memories with friends. Above all else, Linda loved her family with her whole heart. Linda was a faithful woman with a servant’s heart and was a proud member of Mt. Trolly Freewill Baptist Church in Galivants Ferry. Linda will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering devotion to our Lord and savior, and the love she had for her family.
Left to cherish Linda’s memory are her beloved husband of 30 years, Wayne Thompkins of Galivants Ferry; daughters, Amy Burroughs and her husband, Mark of Galivants Ferry & Jenny Merck and her husband, Jon of Monroe, NC; step-daughter, Tammy Fullwood and her husband, David of Aynor; step-son, Steven Wayne Thompkins of Aynor; grandchildren, Price, Lane, Justin, Sarah, Kevin & Blake; sister, Delores Parrish of Enid, OK; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:30AM at Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2804 Methodist Rehoboth Road, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made in Linda’s name to Gethsemane Baptist Church, 4461 Nichols Hwy, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.
