Linda Wine Hildebrand of Murrells Inlet, SC passed from this earth on May 30th, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Butch (Carl E.) Hildebrand who she married on April 27th, 1968. Born June 10th, 1948 in Washington D.C. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Wine and surviving, Venetta Mae Wine (Bean).
Linda’s heart for children was made evident in her life in various places. She was dedicated in the home to raising her three children. Later on, Linda valued spending quality time with her grandchildren when they came to visit or cheering them on over the years in their multitude of activities. She cherished the time she taught Sunday School and always volunteered to donate and meet the needs of a Children’s Ministry in her local church and beyond. Linda gained many friends young and old through her dedicated years as a Frederick County Public School Employee in the front offices of Walkersville Elementary and the former Intermediate School as well as Glade Elementary. It was always clear how much “The Giraffe Lady” was loved when she brought home her Christmas and End of Year presents from students, parents and staff!
Another passion in Linda’s life was making sure to lend a helping hand to loved ones, friends or strangers. If she knew anyone was in need, Linda would provide what she could of her time, resources and prayer.
Surviving in addition to her husband Butch, Linda is survived by her children, Dawn R. Martin of Jackson County, GA, Chad R.E. Hildebrand (wife Heather) of Murrells Inlet, SC and Steven R. Hildebrand (wife Yvonne) of Roanoke, VA. Linda’s much-loved grandchildren are, Montana Hincapie (husband Sebastian), McKenzie Martin, Harley Martin, Blake Martin, Dustin Hildebrand, Trevor Hildebrand, Eathan Hildebrand and Emma Hildebrand. Her surviving siblings are Larry Wine (Flo), Barbara Sacher (Bill), Gail Hodge (John). Linda also has many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Andrew Wine and son-in-law, Chris Martin.
A celebration of life will occur at a later time. The family requests if donations would like to be made in honor of Linda to please consider the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Association.
