Linda P. (Porter) Brock

​Linda P. Brock, 77, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday November 22, 2025 at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on April 1, 1948 in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Joseph & Dora Kathryn Dunn Porter.

Along with her parents, Linda is reunited in passing with her sister-in-law, Sharon & daughter in-law, Kelly.

Linda was truly a one-of-a-kind person. She had a zest and appreciation for life that was unmatched! In her professional life, she worked in human resources for several companies over the years- where she made life-long friends. In her personal life, Linda was a beacon of love, acceptance and a champion of self-expression. She was a die-hard Clemson Tigers fan who loved (loudly) cheering on her team. She was a crafty person who enjoyed making bows for special occasions and excelled at any media she picked up. Her knack for design and eye for detail made her hobby of staging houses a perfect fit for her personality. With some elbow-grease and a well-placed detail, Linda could make any house a home. Linda truly loved to help those in need…and those in need usually found Linda. Linda and her family selflessly welcomed many people into their hearts and home. Whether foster children, exchange students or lost souls, they found a home within Linda. Her passion for giving translated into her relationship with God. Linda was a very faithful woman who offered her compassion through counseling numerous people through their trials and tribulations. In her very rare free time, Linda surrounded herself with a group of friends who stood by her side until the end. With her friends, Linda was the life of the party and enjoyed having a good time. When Linda wasn’t being ‘Super Woman,’ to everyone else, she was the best wife and mother to her beloved boys. Linda was a ‘boy-mom’ and proud of it! She raised her sons to treat her and their future partners with love and respect and most importantly, Linda showed her boys the love of the Lord. Above all else, Linda’s pride and joy was her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, her bright smile and the love she had for the Lord and her family.

Left to cherish Linda’s memory are her adoring husband of over 49 years, Mr. Ervin Brock of Myrtle Beach; their sons, Chris Saylors and wife, Glenda of Loris, SC, Corey Saylors and fiancé, Tahlia of Murrells Inlet, SC & and Lyle Brock and wife Jenn of North Charleston, SC; the apple of her eye- her grandchildren, Brandon Wright, Ashley Jordan, Cody Saylors, Nathan Saylors, Madison Brock & Tyler Brock; great-grandchildren, Cameron Wright, Olivia Jordan, Alan Jordan & Asher Jordan; brothers, Joel Porter and wife, Gliny of Walkertown, NC, Jeff Porter and wife, Michelle of Anderson, SC & Gary Porter of Greenville, SC; sisters, Janice Hicks of Anderson, SC & Debbie Hall of Anderson, SC; very best friends, Diane Brock & Becki David; dear, special friend who truly went above and beyond, Mary Monahan; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday December 6, 2025 at 3PM at Ignite Myrtle Beach, 4808 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. The family will gather to greet friends, immediately following the service.
