Laura (Griffith) Fricano

Laura Fricano, 71, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on Friday July 31, 2026 while at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on July 16, 1955 in Abington Township, Pennsylvania to the late Thomas Wayne Griffith, Sr. & Hjordis Berntsen Griffith.  Laura is reunited with all of her loved ones and her many fur babies. 

Laura’s career began as a developer of title software which she taught herself. Upon moving to Myrtle Beach, she became a real estate paralegal from her extensive knowledge she gained from being a developer.

To those who knew her best, Laura will always be remembered for her incredible baking!  She was best known for her pumpkin rolls and cheesecakes. Each year after Thanksgiving she looked forward to her beloved "Cookie Weekend," spending time with family and friends who participated in this yearly tradition.

Laura also found great happiness in sewing and crafting. Whether baking, sewing, or caring for animals, she poured her heart into everything she did.

Laura is survived by her husband of 36 years, Albert Fricano, and her siblings, Gay Garton (Richard) of Irvine, CA; Guy Griffith (Ernestine) of Longs, SC; Tom Griffith (Dorie) of West Chester, PA; and sisters-in-law Tina MacDonald (David) of Fuquay Varina, NC and Camille Reineck of Norwalk, OH; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Laura’s life will be held in the near future.
