Kenneth Ream Obituary

Kenneth William Ream, 90, formerly of Gibbsboro, NJ, passed away peacefully April 3, 2024.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late George James Ream and Alice Albaugh Ream.

Ken lived life to the fullest as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  A Philly native he loved his Phillies and Eagles as well as watching a weekend of golf, directing the players at the hazards or rough. He also served in the US Army in 1954 and 1955.

Family vacations at the Jersey Shore (Manasquan Beach) became the highlight of the summer season with everyone on the sand or porch serving 4:00pm cocktails, barbequing, lobster fest, fireworks and telling life stories.  A card game or boardgame with the grandkids made everything right.

Ken and Gail often found themselves off to Atlantic City for lunch or a walk on the boardwalk before tackling the slot or table game. The last 15 years were spent in Myrtle Beach SC, meeting new friends, taking many cruises and loving the southern traditions.

He is survived by his wife, Gail L. Peterson of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Robin E. Fendya (Ream) of Haddonfield, NI; granddaughter, Emily E. Fendya and her husband, Benjamin of Flagstaff, AZ; stepson, Sigurd T. Peterson (Butch) and his wife Sara of Glastonbury, CT; stepson, Eric D. Peterson and wife Michelle of Sparks, MD; granddaughters, Isabella, Jordan, Abby, and Morgan.  He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Bill Torowicz and many cousins.

The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and doctors at Waccamaw Hospital and Embrace Hospice House for the wonderful care he received.
