Kenneth T. Braginton, 80, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday September 13, 2021 at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on May 10, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Al & Mary Miller Braginton.
Along with his parents, Ken is reunited in passing with his sister Phyllis; and grandson, Tyler Michael Braginton
Ken was an incredibly hardworking man with a heart of gold and zest for life. In his early years and while in Poughkeepsie, New York, Ken proudly worked for ADT Security Company for over 42 years. Following his well-deserved retirement, Ken and his family relocated to Myrtle Beach in 2003 where he was able to enjoy the finer things in life. Ken was skilled in wood working, enjoyed building furniture and working with his hands. His love for the outdoors led him to be a soccer coach for his children’s teams and later in life, established his appreciation of watching not only his children, but his grandchildren flourish and grow in their preferred sports. Ken was truly his family’s biggest fan. Not only could Ken be found cheering on his family at sports, he also took so much pride in their academic achievements. Ken proudly sported baseball hats with each college his family was affiliated with. In his free time, Ken was an avid reader who enjoyed a good book, especially on the topic of military strategical defense. Ken was an active member of Horry County Chapter of Wildlife Action, Inc. and also served his community performing civic duties for the JC’s, Blue Star Mothers, HOA Board and various Veteran supported organizations. Above all else, Ken loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his love for his family, sports and the peace he found reading a good book.
Left to cherish Ken’s memory are his high school sweetheart and adoring wife of over 60 years, Dolores F. Sauer Braginton of Myrtle Beach; their children, Gina Velsor of Florence, SC, Ken Braginton, Jr. and wife, Margaret of Gloversville, NY, & Christopher Braginton and wife, Nicole of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Brian, Kimberly, Casey, Devin, Damian, Christian, Craig, Cadence, Bailey, & Blaine; great-granddaughters, Cierra, Madalyn, Lily, Aviana, & Francesca; sister- Edith Braginton; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
