Keith Scott Wade

Keith Scott Wade, 67, of Myrtle Beach, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at MUSC Charleston, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born October 25, 1958, in Franklin, VA, to the late Edwin and Shirley Wade.

Keith grew up in High Point, NC, and attended T. Wingate Andrews High School, where he was a proud member of the NCHSAA-4A championship football team in 1976. In 1989, he met his loving wife, Melissa Crowder, and they were married on November 21, 1992. He enjoyed a long and successful career in sales with Vendor Supply of America, Quaker Oats (Gatorade Division), and PepsiCo, where he was awarded PepsiCo Accounts Manager of the Year. He retired from sales in 2015 and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, to begin a new business venture—South Strand Vacation Rentals—with his wife.

Keith was a loving and supportive father and was actively involved in his children’s extracurricular activities. He served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for his son Michael’s high school football team at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School. He could also be found at every Rocky River High School football game, cheering on his daughter Maggie as she performed with the cheerleading team. In addition to the deep love he had for his family, Keith was an outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, saltwater fishing, and golfing. He was also an avid sports fan and never missed an opportunity to cheer for his favorite football teams, the Carolina Panthers and the Virginia Cavaliers.

Above all else, Keith will be remembered for his larger‑than‑life personality, unwavering strength, and the laughter he brought to everyone around him. He had a remarkable sense of humor and could always be counted on to tell a joke, pull a harmless prank, or find a way to make someone smile—even on difficult days. A determined and goal‑oriented businessman, he approached life with drive, perseverance, and an unmatched work ethic. Yet beneath that strength was a deeply caring husband, father, brother, and friend who never hesitated to help others, offer encouragement, or show up for the people he loved. His kindness, generosity, and ability to make others feel valued left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin S. and Shirley H. Wade of High Point, NC.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Melissa, of Myrtle Beach, SC; his son, Michael, of Myrtle Beach, SC; his daughter, Hastings “Maggie,” of Murrells Inlet, SC; his brother, Kevin (Kristi) Wade of High Point, NC, and their children, Matthew and Branson, also of High Point, NC; and his sister‑in‑law, Kimberly Crowder Herndon of Rock Hill, SC, and her children, Ashley and William, also of Rock Hill, SC.
