Kathleen (Smith) Anderson

Kathleen Smith Anderson, 91, from Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Nashville, GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27th 2020.

Born on April 26, 1928 in Wrightsville, GA, Kathleen was the daughter of the late William Thomas Smith and Lokella Brantley Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Garthel Anderson; 3 brothers and two sisters. She retired as a case worker for the Department of Family and Children Services in Cuthbert, GA. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville, GA and enjoyed volunteering at the Caring Place. Known by all as a gracious Southern Lady, she enjoyed travel, and spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her brother Wade, along with her daughter and-son in-law, Susan and Jerry Payne of Murrells Inlet, and her son and daughter-in-law Danny and Kim Anderson of Winter Park, FL. She enjoyed her 6 grandchildren and great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service in celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday March 28, 2020 in West View Cemetery in Nashville, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in memory of Kathleen Anderson to the Caring Place, c/o Nashville United Methodist, 304 South Berrien Street, Nashville, GA 31639.
