Katherine Marion Johnson

Katherine “Cassie” Johnson, 81, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday October 13, 2023 at her home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on August 2, 1942 in Front Royal, Virginia to the late William Williams & Bessie Mae McDonald.

Along with her parents, Cassie is reunited in passing with her beloved best friend and husband, Russell Alan Johnson; and step-father, George McDonald.

Cassie was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold. She was a skilled bookkeeper for several real estate agencies over the years. Cassie enjoyed staying active and was a proud member of the Women of the Moose and was a member of the Gathering Community Church. In her free time, Cassie relished time spent reading, baking & collecting recipes and above all else, spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Cassie’s memory are her adoring daughters, Belinda Johnson James of Charlotte, NC & Stephanie Johnson Lefke and her husband, Mike of Berthoud, CO; grandchildren, Sydney Brown of Denver, CO, Noah Brown of Fort Collins, CO, Cassidy James & Emerson James of Charlotte, NC; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Cassie’s life will be held on Sunday October 29, 2023 at 2:00PM at the Jensen’s Magnolia Clubhouse, 3203 Moonshadow Lane, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
