Judith Russell Demers Gauthier

January 2, 1949 ~ September 9, 2023 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Judith Russell Demers Gauthier, 74, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and formerly of Worcester, MA died Saturday, September 9th, at home after an illness.

She is survived by her husband Roger A. Gauthier of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Her children, Tracy (Gauthier) Fournier and her husband Ronald Fournier of Webster, MA. Her Son Keith A. Gauthier and his wife Jessica (Knox) Gauthier of Leominster, MA. Her brother Jeffrey Demers of Old Orchard Beach, ME. Predeceased by her brother Jospeh Demers. Judy also leaves six Grandchildren (Joseph, Elizibeth, Abagayle, Cameron, Kaitlynn, and predeceased granddaughter Brittany). Four Great-Grandchildren (Madalynn, Samantha, Victoria, and Julianna).

Born in Worcester, MA, Judy was the daughter of Joseph R. and Agnes R (McFarlane) Demers. She grew up in the Burncoat Street area alongside her brothers Jeff and late brother Joe, forging a close bond that lasted throughout their lives. She graduated from Burncoat Senor High School class of 1967.

Judy's devotion to her family was unwavering. She married the love of her life, Roger in 1969, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Judy and Roger were a true partnership, sharing their joys and sorrows for fifty-four years. Their love was a source of inspiration for all who knew them.

Judy was a dedicated wife. She and Roger rarely left each other’s side. Experiencing life’s wonderful journeys together throughout their marriage. An amazing and supportive mother to her two children, and a cherished and nurturing grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored her family more than anything in life. She embraced every moment spent with loved ones, creating lasting bonds and unforgettable memories. Her warm smile, kind heart, and infectious spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In her childhood, Judy became dearest friends with Judith (Cooper) Colecchi of Webster, MA. Because of the confusion in names having two Judy’s, a decision was made that based on age, Judith Gauthier being the younger of the two Judy’s would obtain the nick name “Kippy.” The nickname stuck with Judy throughout her life. Often when Judy would enter an establishment or friends house, you would hear “Hey Kippy!” As life would take her through its course, she would also be referred to as “Jude.”

Judy retired from a lengthy career at Leggett & Platt of Oxford, MA in February 2014 after over thirty-five years. She was an instrumental part of the business in the role of V.P. of sales. During this time, Judy made friendships that have continued to shine well after her retirement.

Shortly after retirement, Judy and Roger moved south to the warmer climate of South Carolina. She quickly made new friends within the community. Joining the Loyal Order of Moose in Murrells Inlet and Lady Islanders of Island Green East. She enjoyed the company of friends and the activities they engaged in as a group.

Judy's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a regular attendee at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church of Garden City, where she found comfort and solace in her spiritual community. Her unwavering faith provided strength and guidance throughout her journey in life.
