Joyce M. Youngs, 87, passed away peacefully with her doting family by her side in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina on Friday, December 5, 2025. Joyce was born on November 27, 1938 in Goshen, New York to late John and Elizabeth Miller.
Along with her parents, Joyce has now been reunited with her son, Todd Youngs and husband Richard Youngs.
She was a dedicated wife and mother. Joyce was married to Richard for 63 years bringing two beautiful children into the world. Being a wife and mother brought her so much warmth. She got up every day for her family and friends. Working hard and self-sacrificing was who Joyce was.
Joyce was a socialite. She had a deep love for volunteering and attending lunches with her lunch group. She made many life-long friends at these events, she cherished these relationships ensuring they got her time and attention. Joyce was a member of the North Kingstown Library and the First Baptist Church in Wickford North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Being able to attend events and spread joy was something that brought Joyce true happiness. She had a deep passion for her faith and loved how beautiful her church was. Joyce was welcomed into an amazing community and appreciated the history of the church. She was a proud and faithful Presbyterian and the library was another source of bliss for her. The church and library was always bettering her character. Joyce was a selfless, warm, compassionate human being. She loved so many people and that love was returned for good reason. If she wasn’t spending time with her family or volunteering, she would knit. It brought her peace of mind, allowing her to be calm and creative.
Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and generosity. Many communities won’t be the same without her but her spirit will live on. Her unmatched character has inspired so many others.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jodi Carlucci of Murrells Inlet; her four grandsons, Codi Carlucci, Nicholas Carlucci, Kyle Carlucci and Ryan Youngs; brother, Daniel Miller; her daughter in-law, June Youngs; son in-law, Charles Carlucci; as well as her church and library communities.
At the request of the family no local services will be held. A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held in Rhode Island at a later date.
