Joseph Michael (Mike) Kinsey, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home with his wife, daughter, and sister at his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Michael was the son of Joseph Kinsey Sr. and the late Barbara P. Kinsey.
Michael was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family. Michael also enjoyed being on the water, attending Carolina football games, trips to Santee with his father and visiting friends on his golf cart. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from The University of South Carolina. This inspired him to become the top design consultant at Carolina Home Exteriors for many consecutive years.
Surviving in addition to his father is his wife Dana S. Kinsey; a daughter Katie Kinsey; his sister Laura (Tootie) Heath; stepsister Mary Jo (Jim) Burgess; stepbrothers Arnie (Darlene) Graham, Chris (Amy Graham); father in-law Richard Sinners; sister in-law Brandy (Nick) Davis; nephews Stewart (Maddie) Heath, J.C. Heath, Nexsen Davis and niece Eliza Davis. He is preceded in death by his mother in-law Gerrie Sinners and Nephew Dillon Davis.
A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held 12:00 PM Friday April 12, 2024, at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The Kinsey family lost John Landon Black to drug addiction. The John Landon Black Foundation was set up in John’s honor to give others the type of support he received from his family and that he wished for others. Michael wanted everyone to remember John Landon Black’s struggle with addiction in hopes it will save someone else.
