Johnny Carroll Cooper, age 73, of Galivants Ferry, South Carolina, passed away peacefully and went to his heavenly home on April 24, 2026, surrounded by love.
Johnny was born on May 7, 1952, in Marion, South Carolina, to the late Troy Manning Cooper and Avie Hewitt Cooper.
He was a man known for his deep love of deer hunting and, above all, his unwavering devotion to his family.
Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Cooper; his sisters, Judy May Causey and Elisabeth Martin; and his brothers, T.L. Cooper, James Cooper, Jimmy Cooper, and Ronnie Cooper.
Johnny is survived by his loving children, Dana Cooper Morgan and Timmy Cooper (Meredith Cooper), both of Galivants Ferry. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Kenny Morgan (Victoria Morgan), Samantha Morgan, Riley Cooper, Troy Mitchell Cooper, and Thomas Caiden Taylor Cooper; as well as two great-grandchildren, Carlton Bryson Cooper and Kylinn Michelle Cooper.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Johnny is survived by his brother, Ben Cooper (Kathy), and his sisters, Mary Kirby and Connie Cooper.
The family will hold a private celebration of life honoring Mr. Cooper on Saturday, May 2.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Loris Hospital ICU for the gentle and compassionate care provided not only to Johnny but to the entire family.
