John "Jack" Charles Cluney was born August 16, 1948, in Buffalo, New York. Jack went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 2, 2020, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, at the age of 71.
Jack treasured the precious moments he had with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Evelyn, son John Jr., daughter Carrie Lynn Taylor and her husband Steven, grandson Dyami who was his buddy, sister-in-law Pat Peacock, sister-in-law Helen Reardon (Dan), brother-in-law Ray Chapman (Mary Jo), brother-in-law David Chapman (Treann), nephews Larry Eich, James Reardon, Shawn Reardon, Jeff Reardon (Heather), niece Lauren Chapman, and many dear cousins and other extended family.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Edward, mother Edna, siblings James, Thomas and Donna, nephew Jeremy Eich, and niece Justine Eich.
Jack was ordained into the ministry at White Tanks Baptist Church, Buckeye, Arizona. He obtained a BA in Christian Psychology and Counseling, an MA in Counseling Psychology and Divinity, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Carolina Christian University as well as a ThD in Theology from Biblical Life College and Seminary. Jack loved Jesus and had a passion for studying and teaching the Word of God and introducing others to know his Lord. He faithfully served God in Arizona, Illinois, and South Carolina.
Jack was a 32nd Degree Mason, Valley of Springfield and member of St. Paul's Lodge #0500, Springfield, Illinois, past District Governor of the Optimist Club of Illinois, and past President of Lion's Club International, Phoenix, Arizona.
Jack loved family get-togethers, teaching and preaching, photography, target shooting, and going to the beach with his dog Maggie Mae.
