John F Kunkel

John F. Kunkel, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 22, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Frank W. Kunkel & Dorothy H (Heinicke) Kunkel.

John was a hardworking man with a heart of gold. He was well educated and proud to have earned his status as Senior Vice President and Manager of Institutional Sales. Upon his well-deserved retirement, John was able to enjoy the finer things in life. He was an avid golfer, loved to cheer on the Baltimore Ravens and was a proud volunteer firefighter. Above all else, John was an amazing and encouraging husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish John’s memory are his beloved wife of almost 56 years, Mildred “Millie” (Clark) Kunkel of Myrtle Beach; their children, Jennifer Walsh and her husband, Pat of Murrells Inlet, Melissa Berger and her husband Dave of Ellicott City, MD ,John Kunkel, Jr. and his wife, Jackie of Fallston, MD & Matthew Kunkel and his wife, Ronda of Cockeysville, MD; his eight beloved grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother, Fredrick J. Kunkel; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held on Monday November 4, 2019 at 1:00PM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Ave. Garden City, SC 29576. Inurnment will be held following the service, within the church columbarium.
