John Linus Keller, 93, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on February 13, 1927, in Washington, D.C to the late Frank Joseph & Emma Matilda (Saiko) Keller.
Along with his parents, John is reunited in death with his beloved wife of 73 years, Mrs. Regina Keller; granddaughter, Samantha Keller; as well as his brothers, George, Joe, & Frank Keller.
John proudly served his country in the United States Navy & Army during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, John was a hardworking man who continued to work for the US government as a chemist and ink manufacturer. In order to ensure his family would be well taken care of, John went on to work tirelessly as a Washington Post Newspaper Distributor. Upon his well-deserved retirement, John was able to enjoy the finer things in life. He always took an interest in what his family loved to do and was a faithful man who served our Lord through his selfless and patient acts of faith. He was a member St. James Catholic Church in Conway. Above all else, John loved his wife and family with his whole heart. He took pride in his family and setting a good example. John will be missed for his caring demeanor, generosity, strength and love for his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish John’s memory are his children, Michael Keller of Cary, NC; Patricia Derrickson and her husband Robert of Aiken, SC; Stephen Keller and his wife Joanne of Las Vegas, NV; Timothy Keller and his wife Debbie of Springfield, VA; Mary Derrickson and her husband Ronald of Myrtle Beach, SC; Christopher Keller and his wife Maggie of Ashburn, VA; grandchildren, Rachel, Anna, Chris, Catherine, Gina, Stephanie, Carrie, Tami, Stacey, Christina, Kevin, Keith, Kenny, John, Mike, William, Catherine and Annie; great grandchildren, Kadisha, Sierra, Justis, Jacob, Ashleigh, Ethan, Jack, Ava, Elijah, Alley, Justin, Carlo, Lilly, Matilda, Brianna, Zachary, Katelyn, Kensley, and one on the way, Olivia, Jack, Charlotte, Brandon; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews & cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020, at 11:00AM at St. James Catholic Church, 1071 Academy Drive, Conway, SC 29526. Inurnment will immediately follow the service within the church columbarium where military honors will be accorded.
