John Peter Jeffery

John Peter Jeffery, 85, of Myrtle Beach, passed away peacefully at Inlet Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina on April 24th 2022.

He was born in Guiseley, England, on December 29th 1936 to Gilbert and Florence Jeffery, and emigrated to the United States in 1982.

John was the beloved husband to Jean (RIP 2009), father to Carole Woodruff and Nicola Jeffery, father-in-law to Peter Woodruff and much loved grandfather of Tim, Kate and Michael Woodruff.

He was a fun-loving, joyful and friendly person with a love for travel, photography and cars. Music was an integral part of his life with a passion for hi-fi. Always energetic and curious, John enjoyed a distinguished career as an engineer, and he especially cherished time spent with his family.

Most of all he loved life and people, and brought cheer and laughter to every room he was in. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Thursday May 5th, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC, 29576. All are welcome to attend or watch virtually.
