John Anthony Gibson, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in Conway, South Carolina. John was born on May 12th, 1942, to the late Robert N. and Elizabeth T. Gibson in Arlington Virginia and lived in northern Virginia for 60 plus years.
John served in The Army National Guard and was a lifelong baseball fan, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles, and other teams. He worked with United Airlines, Virginia/Dominion Power, and the Fairfax County Virginia school system.
He attended Washington Lee High School followed by Ferrum Junior College and East Tennessee State University where he was a pitcher on the baseball teams of each school. John was a member of the Forestbrook Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
John is preceded in death by his parents Robert N. and Elizabeth T. Gibson, his 2 children David and Erin, and his wife, J. Eileen S. Gibson.

John’s celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
