John Joseph Flahive

John Joseph Flahive, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday June 14, 2026, at his home in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Formerly of Westbury, NY, John was born in New York, NY the son of the late William and Bridget Flahive.

John enjoyed watching and investing in the stock market.  He spent most of his career in sales for various companies.  John owned and operated a bar in Ozone Park, NY, an embroidery shop in Manalapan, NJ and a vending business on Long Island.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his son, John Flahive Jr., his granddaughter, Brittany Brophy and his brother, William Flahive.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lilianne (Lil) Flahive; daughters, Denise Peeters, Deborah Flahive, Colleen Abbate and Nadine Ward; many grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday June 19, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet Thursday June 18, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 3:00 PM.

For those unable to attend, the Prayer Service and Funeral Mass will be live streamed.
