Joellen Hoffman

Joellen Hoffman (Vigilante), 71, was called home to be with God on Friday, December 30, 2022. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family, at home, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.

She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph & Marie Vigilante on July 8th, 1951. She attended Bishop McDonnell high school, later moved to Pennsylvania, and started a family. She was a devoted mother, who proudly graduated from DeSales University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She absolutely loved being a teacher and caring for young children. She married Jay Hoffman and later moved to South Carolina.

Joellen was committed to her faith in Jesus, she loved reading and studying scripture, and writing in her devotional. She liked to write and print letters about the wonders of God’s Love and Grace and mail them. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family & friends, walking Brookgreen Gardens and picnics at Huntington Beach. 

Joellen is preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Marie, and sister Nancy Vigilante. She is survived by her Husband Jay, her brothers Joseph & Robert, daughters Christine & Stephanie, stepson Willie, and granddaughter Alaina.

Please join us for her Celebration of Life service to be held on Friday, March 3rd, 2023, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, at Timberlake Baptist Church, 9850 SC-707, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.

The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person through the church website at https://www.timberlakechurch.net/home/
