Joann Patricia Heneghan

Joann Patricia Heneghan, 72, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Tinton Falls, NJ, died on July 27, 2022. She was born in New York, NY to Thomas Cleary and Margaret Whalen Sholl.

Joann was a dog lover and was very passionate about rescuing them. She enjoyed spending time at both Myrtle Beach State Park and Hunting Beach State Park where she could often be found viewing the shore birds. She also loved gardening and collecting orchids. 

She had a Masters in Special Education and spent her career teaching students with language and learning disabilities. She was a member of the All Souls Waccamaw Unitarian Universalist Church and had previously sung in the choir at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, NJ.

Above all, Joann was an extremely kind and generous person. She was a wonderful mother and she will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her son, Brian Heneghan of Nashville, TN, and her dog, Marley.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
