Jean Ellen Hanna

Jean Ellen Hanna, 95, of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. She was born on May 19, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late William Peterson and Carrie Schmidt. Jean was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Hanna.

Jean was known for her warm heart and kind spirit. She never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a love for travel, but above all else, she cherished spending quality time with her beloved family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Paul J. Hanna of Pawleys Inlet, South Carolina, and Gregory Hanna of North Carolina; her granddaughter, Ashley Marie McKee; along with many supportive friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.

Private family services will be held in her honor.

Jean’s kindness, compassion, and love for family will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.
