Janie Hefner Boggs

Janie Hefner Boggs, age 82, passed away peacefully Friday September 8, 2023, at NHC in Garden City, SC.

Formerly of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Janie was born in Neola, WV the daughter of the late Arthur and Flora Hefner.

Janie graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School where she was a majorette.  She was employed as a receptionist at the Greenbrier Hotel and then later at Rolling Rock Club for a combined total of 35 years.  Janie retired and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC where she resided for the last 13 years.  She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 108 in Lewisburg, WV  and the Church of the Resurrection in Murrells Inlet, SC.  Janie found joy in volunteering her time to help distribute food to those in the greatest need.

Janie is survived by her sweetheart, Emmett Boggs. The two enjoyed a loyal marriage of 65 years.  They were blessed with two sons, Alfred Boggs and his wife Juli of Pennsylvania and Keaton Boggs and his wife Wanda of Wisconsin.  This loving couple enjoyed their four grandchildren, Jordan, John, Christie, and Derek Boggs.  Janie and Emmett delighted in their great grandchildren, Wesley, and Kyra Boggs.  Janie is also survived by her sister, Nellie Doan.

A Celebration of Janie’s Life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday September 30, 2023 at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg, WV.
