Janet B. (Baird) Gage

Janet B. Gage, 78, of Murrells Inlet, SC, and formerly of Higganum, CT, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 14, 2025. Janet was born in Passaic, NJ, to John “Jack” and Charlotte (Waer) Baird

In addition to her parents, Janet is predeceased by her beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Korney.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Christine Gage Boice (Chaz) of Princeton, NJ; son, Dan Gage (Kate) of Chester Springs, PA; stepdaughter, Lee Strickler of Murrells Inlet, SC;  stepson, Paul Korney (Malorie) of Wylie, TX; grandchildren, Tyler and Jenna Kelsey of Colorado Springs, CO, Emma Boice of Princeton, NJ, Dylan and Gwendolyn Korney of Wylie, TX, and Zoey and Cole Gage of Chester Springs, PA; as well as her sister Lois Hopper (William) and brothers David and Jeffrey Baird.

Janet spent 18 years in Murrells Inlet, where she enjoyed playing golf with friends, relaxing on the beach, and taking visitors to the MarshWalk to share the local cuisine. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and her Mrs. Meyers cookies were a family favorite. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to new places. Janet will be remembered for her quick wit, her love of cooking, and for the memories she created with family.

The family plans to hold a service at a later date.
