Jane Harrill Keever, wife of Charles Alexander Keever, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on June 18, 2025, while surrounded by her family.
Jane was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina on August 18, 1942, a daughter of Fritz Clay Harrill and Henrietta Smith Harrill.
Jane was a graduate of Belmont Abbey College and worked as a homemaker. She spent countless hours teaching children how to swim, read or do math. She enjoyed sports, bird watching, the beach, keeping up with current events, but more than anything else, she enjoyed her family. When her children were younger, she was involved regularly with their swim teams and the PTA.
She is survived by her husband, her son Andrew Barrett (Emily) of Charleston, S.C., her daughter, Leslie Barrett of Murrells Inlet, S.C., her stepdaughter Julia Boehlke (Matthew) of Belmont, N.C., her grandchildren Jordan Flowers, Nickolas Flowers, Kendrick Boehlke, Alexander Boehlke, and Henry Barrett, and great grandchildren, Kyrie Moore and Kylani Moore. She is also survived by her brother Yates Harrill and many nieces and nephews, including her special niece Paula Brace. She was predeceased by her brothers Samuel A. Harrill, William Harrill, and Thomas Harrill, her sister Mary Etta Gragg, her nephew Samuel W. Harrill, and her stepson, Keith Keever.
In lieu of flowers, Jane’s wish was to have donations made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Further details will be shared when available.
