James “Phil” Philip Parrott, 84, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday June 16, 2020 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on April 30, 1936 in Washington, DC to the late Boyd & Dorothy (Ball) Parrott.

Phil was a hardworking man with a heart of gold. He was a skilled electronic technician with the US Government for many years. Following his retirement, Phil was able to enjoy the finer things in life. He enjoyed tinkering with projects around the house, laughing and making memories with his friends and family and was known throughout his neighborhood for driving his dog, Henry, around in the golf cart. Phil was a caring man who would gladly offer the shirt from his back, to anyone in need. He will forever be remembered for his great sense of humor, ability to fix anything, and for the loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend he truly was. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Left to cherish Phil’s memory are his beloved wife, Ms. Rebecca (Burnett) Parrott of Pawleys Island; son, James Parrott and his wife, Ann of Virginia; his daughter, Julie Echols and her husband, David of Maryland; grandchildren, Emily & Madison Echols; sister, Frances McElvey and her husband, John of Delaware; brother, Kenneth Polky and his wife, Donna of Indiana; his adoring dog, Henry; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Phil’s life will be held from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Inlet Affairs, 4024 US-17 Bus. Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
