James "Jim" V. French

Murrells Inlet, SC…. James “Jim” V. French, age 84, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital surrounded by his family.

Jim was born February 1, 1937 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, to the late Boyd T. and Rose T. Koontz French.  Jim was a US Navy Veteran who later worked for the Federal Government before retiring in 1988.  Jim enjoyed being silly with family and friends, and he always kept everyone laughing with his kind-hearted, jovial spirit. 

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Linda French of Murrells Inlet; daughter, Sharon (French) Willner and husband Edward of Severna Park, Maryland; step-sons Paul Klassett and wife Kate and Douglas Klassett, all of Richmond, Virginia; grandsons Eric Willner and Ryan French and granddaughters Morgan, Amelia, and Jillian Klassett and Lily French.  He was pre-deceased by his son, Gregory French. 

Private services will be held at Quantico National Cemetery in Virginia on May 18, 2021.
