James Raymond Fry

James Raymond Fry, age 72, formerly of Santa Fe Springs, CA passed away peacefully Friday October 8, 2021 at his Myrtle Beach, SC residence.

Born in Glendale, CA, Jim was the son of the late Raymond Frank Fry and Evelyn Kenyon Fry.  Jim was a professional musician since the age of 17 who played and wrote music.  He owned Pro Rentals Music Store in Huntington Beach, CA where he taught guitar.  Jim was a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles sports teams, who enjoyed surfing and fishing in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. He loved his dogs, Bogey, Missy and Gabby, but his special loves were his family and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Marjorie Piggott Fry, Myrtle Beach, SC; son, Joshua Fry, Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Amy Rae Reid (Kyle), Grey Court, SC; granddaughters, Alexandra, Dylan, Emma, Kylie; sister, Susan Johnston, Yreka, CA; nephews, Eric Johnston, David Johnston; niece, Shelly Davis.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday October, 13, 2021 in Ocean Woods Cemetery, Myrtle Beach.  A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the family’s home following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Jim’s name to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Horry County Fire Department and Paramedics who responded to Jim’s needs on several occasions. And to Abby Cornine, Lauren Trent and SC House Calls for the kindness and love they gave to Jim in his final months. He grew to love you as family. You are truly amazing Nurse Practitioners.
