James Francis Covert

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness, that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Covert, who departed this life very unexpectedly at his home, on July 12, 2026.

Jim was 67 years old and was the son of Merle and Nancy Covert.  Jim was born on August 26, 1958, in the town of Urbana, NY.

Jim married Toni Arbaugh on October 5, 1991, and shared 34 wonderful years with her.  Together they raised two sons, Mathew (Jaclyn) Arbaugh of Philadelphia, PA and Daniel Covert of Myrtle Beach, SC.  He cherished and adored his two grandsons, Fisher Lange-Covert and Jackson Arbaugh.

In addition to his wife, sons and grandsons, Jim is survived by his mother, Nancy Covert of Seneca, SC, three brothers, Skip (Karin) Covert of Seneca, SC, Bob (Fran) Covert of Jacksonville, FL, Dennis Covert of Magnolia, TX, two sisters, Karen (Joseph) Trainor of Mars, PA and Barbara Covert of Crescent City, FL.

Jim was predeceased by his father, Merle J. Covert, Sr.

Jim enjoyed fishing, all sports and gardening.  He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures.  He lived life marked by warmth, devotion, hard work and a deep love for his family and friends.  He will be remembered with love by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in Jim’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
