James Barrett Obituary

James R. Barrett of Murrells Inlet, SC, died on July 6, 2021. He was born in Massillon, OH to the late James Patrick Barrett and Doris Glauser Barrett.

James is a graduate of John Carroll University and University of Detroit with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also received his Master's Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He later retired from BWXT Technologies.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his sister Jacquelyn Stefanak.

James is survived by his wife Darlene Baber Barrett of Murrells Inlet, SC; sons James Barrett II and Gentry; and daughters Kathi and Lora and Kim, his grandchildren Lauren, Kyler, Abbey. Emily Ann, Brandon, Kariann and Justin and two great grandchildren.

A private memorial will be held at a later time.

Burroughs Funeral Home (843-651-1440) of Murrells Inlet will be assisting the family.
