Jack Dennie Westmoreland Obituary

Jack Dennie Westmoreland, 70, of Myrtle Beach, passed away on January 12, 2020 at his home. Dennie was born on July 9, 1949 in Loris, SC, a son to the late Zack Dayton Westmoreland and Ida (Medlin) Westmoreland.

In addition to his parents, Dennie was preceded in death by his son, Mark Link; his sisters, Dorothy Jean Grainger & Mary Kate Westmoreland; as well as his brother, Mark Dayton Westmoreland.

Dennie proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, he was able to enjoy the finer things in life. Dennie was proudly a jack of all trades who loved creating and working with his hands. He channeled his creativity into stained glass art, composing stained glass Christmas trees, various handcrafts, doll making and jewelry. Dennie found peace walking on the beach and feeling the wind in his hair. Dennie was a faithful man and possessed a servant’s heart. He was always there to cut the neighbor’s grass and would gladly offer the shirt from his back to help anyone in need. Dennie was a very kind, selfless and faithful gentleman who loved his family with all of his heart. He will be deeply missed.

Dennie is survived by a very large and loving family, including his devoted wife of 30 years, Mrs. Linda L. (Massie) Westmoreland; his children, son, Dennie Link and daughter, Melanie Fitch, both of Crailshem, Germany, daughter Charlotte “Charley” Westmoreland (Jason Stuart) of Lake City, SC, son Zack Lewis Westmoreland (Erica) of Black Rock, Arkansas, son Nicholas David Westmoreland (Wendy Causey) of Conway, SC and daughter Tammy Dell Massie of Lexington, Kentucky. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren; Tiffany, Phillip and Jessy Fitch; Hailey, Melanie, and Zoe, Harber and Casyn Stuart; April, Zack II and Jesilyn Westmoreland; Bryson Williams, Carsyn Parker, Dominic and Nicole Callahan, William Westmoreland and Kristen Browning. Lastly, he is survived by his sisters Ann Westmoreland of Myrtle Beach and Helen Faye Fletcher of Aynor, his brother Nicholas Orlando (Silvia Marlow) of Conway, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and church family and countless supportive friends and neighbors.
