Jack Allan Kern passed away in his home on September 29, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 13, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey to Harry and Florence Kern. He graduated from Union High School and went on to serve in the Army where he was stationed in San Antonio, Texas.
Jack married his beloved wife, Florence White, in 1951 and they built a beautiful life together. Jack was a lifelong employee of New Jersey Bell. He had a passion and keen interest in airplanes and history and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. In 1963, Jack actually built, with his own two hands, a beautiful house in Martinsville, New Jersey for their growing family where Jack and Florence lived for over 30 years until they retired.
Jack is survived by his two daughters, Florence Schreyer (Blair) and Maureen Spencer (Jonathan) and his five grandchildren Laura Morgan, Sarah Martinez, Jennifer Weir, James Spencer and Samuel Spencer. He is also survived by his ten great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Mr. Kern was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Florence, his son, Brian, and his brother, Malcolm.
A memorial service will be held at a time to be determined.
