Irene Aiello, 85, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. Born and raised in New York, Irene later made her home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, where she spent the last seventeen years of her life surrounded by family, friends, and the place she loved.
Irene was the devoted wife of her one and only love, Ralph, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Their love was the foundation of her life and a shining example to all who knew them.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Renee, and her husband, T.J.; her cherished grandsons, Matthew, Kyle, and Stephen; and her loving niece and nephew, Claire and Keith. Family meant everything to Irene, and she found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved most.
For the last twelve years of her life, Irene bravely faced dialysis, yet it never stopped her from enjoying what she loved – especially shopping, one of her favorite pastimes. Over the past five years, she endured several health setbacks with extraordinary strength and grace. Through it all, she never complained. Irene was a fighter until the very end, meeting every challenge with quite courage and unwavering spirit.
A Memorial Mass honoring Irene’s life will be held in New York on February 2, 2026.
Irene will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered for her strength, warmth, and the love she gave so freely to her family.
