Wade Purcell, 69, of Surfside Beach SC. Died unexpectedly on July 31, 2022.
He was born September 3,1952 in New Jersey, son of Harvey H Purcell and Rosemary M Purcell (both deceased).
Wade graduated from North Forsyth High School class of 1971, after which he attended Forsyth Tech for one year. After graduating he started his first career as a driver for a trucking firm in Winston Salem. Upon retiring from the company, in 1980 he began his second career as a cable splicer with his younger brother at King Communications and worked his way up Chief Technician. After leaving King Communications Wade began his Real Estate investing and Licensed Building in SC. as owner of Purcell Properties South until his passing. Wade’s passing will leave a large void in the family and the community, he will be remembered as a stand-up guy who cared about his family and his friends. He was wise beyond his years and was relied on by many.
Wade is survived by his wife Marti B Purcell of Surfside Beach SC., Sons Jason, and Ryan of Winston Salem NC., Grandson Nathan of Winston Salem. Brothers John Purcell wife Judy of Pawleys Island SC., William “Bill” Purcell wife Kay of Awendaw SC., Sister Diane Jones husband Jeff of Mt. Pleasant SC. and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on August 14th in Pawleys Island.
