Harvey F. Lowes, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 11, 2020 at the Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on December 11, 1937 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to the late John Frederick Lowes & Stella Mae (Anderson) Lowes.
Along with his parents, Harvey is reunited in death with his brothers, Fred Lowes and his wife, Flora & Vern Lowes and his wife, Melvina; sister, Katherine Stufflebeam and her husband, Clyde; grandchildren, Roxanne Nelson, David Shelton & Travis Lowes; and great-granddaughters, Abby L. Nelson & Sarah A. McCall Watkins; and beloved nephew, Howard Wayne Wesley aka Squally.
Harvey was a hardworking man who was a skilled and dedicated carpenter. He proudly worked for England Construction for many years. Following Harvey’s well deserved retirement, he was able to enjoy the finer things in life. He was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Harvey’s memory are his beloved wife of 64 years, Mrs. Patsy Ann (Wesley) Lowes of Murrells Inlet; their children, Gila May Norris and the late Gevone, Debra Lowes & Harvey “Johnny” Lowes and his wife, Terri; his adoring grandchildren, Chris E. M. Watkins and his wife, Melissa, Jason C. Watkins, William Michael Willard, Andrew M.A. Nelson, William Marcus Ortagus, Rebecca P. Howard and her husband, Steven, Tanner J. F. Lowes & Benjamin Henderson and is wife, Darlene and their daughter; great- grandchildren, Taylor Rae Boyd, Aaron M. A. Nelson, Xander Lowes, Chris Howard and Karley Howard; brothers, Henry Lowes and his wife, Linda, Donald Lowes and his wife, Becky, Wayne Lowes and his wife, Nancy, Johnny Lowes and his wife, Kathleen & Jimmy Lowes and his wife, Sandy; sisters, Margie Whisner and her late husband, Earl & Dorothy Roxby and her husband, George; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Harvey’s life will be held privately.
