Gloria Price Burroughs

Gloria Price Burroughs, 72, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away peacefully Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. She was born March 29, 1948 in Marion, SC daughter of the late Lawrence Homer Price and Virginia Hitchcock Price.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Leroy Burroughs of Murrells Inlet; one daughter, Pam Wiggins (O’Neal Davis) of Myrtle Beach; two sons, Chris Burroughs and his wife Tangie of Murrells Inlet and Mark Burroughs and his wife Amy of Galivants Ferry, SC; brother, Larry Price and his wife Sherry of Bamberg, SC; sisters, Dianne Belec of Columbia, SC and Connie Siegal and her husband Bruce of Port St. Lucie, FL; eight grandchildren, Ashley Jordan (Drew), Bryan Wiggins (Darah), Kevin Wiggins (Kayla), Macy Weaver (Carey), Nina Wiggins, Savanna Rogers, Price Burroughs, & Lane Burroughs; eleven great-grandchildren, Tilly, Tillman, Tristan, Austin, Elena, Luke, Kenna, Clarke, Christopher, Madeline & Harper; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as a large loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

Gloria was a graduate of Marion High School, class of 1966. She went on to attend Florence-Darlington Tech where she received her BA in nursing. She retired from Marion Memorial Hospital as the nursing supervisor after many years of dedicated service.

Gloria was nominated for Volunteer of the Year for Horry County and the Grand Strand in 2008. She had a big heart and was always willing to offer a helping hand. She enjoyed traveling, cruising, and most importantly spending time with her family. She was a member of Murrells Inlet Baptist Church. 

A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Palmetto Memorial Gardens, 1934 Senator Gasque Road, Marion, SC 29571 with Rev. Chris Spires officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 11, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.

The family has requested that memorial contributions in Gloria’s name to Murrells Inlet Baptist Church, 3891 Highway 17 Bypass, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
